The graduate students of the University of Victoria’s School of Music are pleased to announce a call for papers for the 2016 Pacific Northwest Graduate Student Conference. The conference will take place on Saturday March 5th and Sunday March 6th, and will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Joseph Salem (UVic). 

We encourage submissions from graduate students in all areas of music study, including musicology, theory, music education, performance, and composition. Presentations should be no longer than twenty minutes and lecture-recitals no longer than forty minutes. A ten-minute question period will follow each presentation.

Documents can be sent as .doc, .docx, or .pdf attachments with a file name of: UVICPNW2016_YourPaperTitle. The abstract itself must contain no information that could identify you or your institution. The body of the e-mail, however, should include the following information: paper title, author’s name, address, institutional affiliation (if any), email address, and audio-visual requirements.

Submissions must be received by 23:59 PDT Monday, January 18, 2016. The chosen presenters will be notified on or before February 11th, 2016.
