CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Les Cahiers de la Société québécoise de recherche en musique (SQRM) are published twice a year by the SQRM to allow the Société to fulfill its mission in terms of supporting music research.

Les Cahiers welcome proposals for articles to be published in an issue scheduled for the end of 2017. The athematic volume will cover recent research conducted in any areas of scholarship on music: acoustics, archival studies, song, composition, legal aspects, electroacoustics, aesthetics, ethnomusicology, interdisciplinarity between music and other arts, performance, mixed media, music history, music theory, organology, music education, philosophy, creative research, sociology, etc.

The journal is a member of the Société de développement des périodiques culturels québécois (SODEP) and is available for consultation on the database Érudit (a SQRM membership gives full access to Les Cahiers online). The articles are listed in the Répertoire international de littérature musicale (RILM) and in Music Index

Evaluation procedure

The evaluation of articles submitted to Les Cahiers follows a rigorous process that calls upon the expertise of a scientific committee and outside reviewers. The criteria considered include the quality of the research, its contribution to the advancement of music scholarship, its pertinence regarding Les Cahiers’s mission, and the quality of the writing.
