Lecturer/Assistant Professor, Musicology – July 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011
The Department of Music at Dalhousie University invites applications for a 6-month 50%, limited term appointment in Musicology at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor level, effective July 1, 2011. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in musicology (preferably in hand by the time of appointment, although ABD candidates may be considered) and possess appropriate teaching experience with demonstrated excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two of the following three courses: “Music History I: Writing about Music” (an Introduction to Musicology/Research Methods course for music majors), “A History of Opera” (primarily for music majors), and “A History of Popular Music until 1960” (a large, general enrolment class).
