The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Music Theory at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2015. This position is subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.
While a completed PhD is preferred, applicants who are ABD and nearing completion of their dissertation will also be considered. The University aspires to hire individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and scholarship. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in the core undergraduate music theory sequence, as well as upper-level undergraduate and graduate theory seminars. Teaching duties in other areas of the Music Department may be assigned depending upon the candidate’s secondary proficiencies. Active contribution to the Department of Music and the Faculty of Fine Arts is expected.
The Faculty of Fine Arts, housed in the Centre for the Arts with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, offers degree programs in Music, Art, Drama and New Media within the liberal arts education context and focuses on excellence in teaching and research/creative activity.
