ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PIANO – TENURE-TRACK
The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music, invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Piano at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2016. This position is subject to the approval of the Board of Governors.
A completed doctorate is preferred. Applicants who are ABD and/or nearing completion of their degree or those with commensurate professional experience will also be considered. “Commensurate professional experience” refers to a substantial career as an international performing artist with an equal reputation as a pedagogue at the post-secondary level. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Piano Studio. Teaching duties in other areas of the Music Department will be assigned depending upon the candidate’s secondary proficiencies. The University aspires to hire individuals who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research/performance/ creative activities. Active contribution to the Department of Music and the Faculty of Fine Arts is expected.
The Faculty of Fine Arts, housed in the Centre for the Arts with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, offers degree programs in Music, Art, Drama and New Media within the liberal arts education context and focuses on excellence in teaching and research/creative activity.
