The International Centre for Music Studies (ICMuS) at Newcastle University wishes to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Music on a permanent contract to make a significant contribution to our collective research and teaching. We wish to appoint someone with particular research and teaching interests in musical performance in any genre, that would flourish in our highly plural research culture in an increasingly global and digitally connected world. As one of the UK’s larger music departments, The International Centre for Music Studies at Newcastle University is able to sustain a distinctive and plural research culture. We have four key areas of research strength which include: early music; ethnomusicology and traditional music; critical and cultural musicology; composition (broadly defined), and performance. The successful candidate will be able to show excellence as both a teacher and performer-researcher, with the potential for a portfolio of first rate outputs (in any format) of at least 3* and/or 4* REF outputs which should be demonstrated in the application.

Salary: Grade F - £33,943 - £38,183 per annum
Grade G - £39,324 - £41,709 per annum, with progression to £46,924
Grade H - £48,327 - £51,260 per annum, with progression to £55,998
