Memorial University is home to Atlantic Canada’s largest and most comprehensive school of music. At the undergraduate level the School offers Bachelor of Music programs in performance, musicologies, composition and music education (conjoint B.Mus./B.Mus.Ed.) to 150 students. At the graduate level the School offers M.Mus. programs (performance, performance/pedagogy and conducting) and M.A./Ph.D. programs in ethnomusicology to more than 50 students from across the globe. The School’s faculty of 25 performers and scholars enjoy international reputations in their fields and are active partners across the province’s vibrant musical, artistic and cultural communities. 

The School of Music seeks to fill a four-month teaching-term appointment in Voice at the rank of Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor, starting September 2018. Duties will include applied instruction in voice. Additional teaching responsibilities as needed by the School, in keeping with the qualifications of the successful candidate, may be required.

Qualifications for the position include a doctorate in a relevant area (completed or ABD) or a master’s degree in a relevant area along with commensurate professional experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence as a vocal performer, and a record of successful teaching.
