CUMS Non-Board Position for Advocacy
The CUMS Board is looking for an individual to fill a non-board, volunteer position for advocacy on issues of interest to our society and its membership. The individual would advise and report to the Board on new and existing situations of national or international interest in order for CUMS to be able to respond in a timely fashion and/or disseminate information to members, as appropriate. Over the last few years, a number of issues affecting our lives as music scholars/performers/educators have emerged (the CBC crisis, the Encyclopedia of Music in Canada eviction, proposed changes to copyright legislation, to name a few). An individual specifically interested in keeping up to date on such issues would ensure that, as a society, we are not ignorant of circumstances that directly affect us.
