The Canadian University Music Society (MusCan) will hold its annual conference May 23-25, 2018 at MacEwan University, Edmonton, Alberta. MacEwan University respectfully acknowledges that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous Peoples. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home.
The theme of the 2018 conference is MusEcologies, a theme that reflects the complexities and dynamics of music cultures in their spaces. Special topic areas will include musical communities, culture and identity, music and multiculturalism, the digital transformation and accessibility of music, etc. The CANADIAN UNIVERSITY MUSIC SOCIETY aims to bring together scholars from a wide range of perspectives for a vibrant discussion.
