The Department of Music in the Faculty of Media, Art and Performance (MAP) at the University of Regina, invites applications for a tenure-track position in  Vocal Performance, to commence July 1, 2024. The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant area, preferably a DMA in vocal performance and/or pedagogy, or a completed master’s degree with commensurate professional experience. Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level at an accredited post-secondary institution is required.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching applied voice as well as voice-related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Music Department and the Faculty of MAP. There may also be additional teaching to be carried out according to the needs of the Department and/or Faculty, and in consideration of the background and abilities of the candidate. In addition to being an excellent teacher and communicator, the successful candidate will have a strong research agenda and be actively engaged in ongoing scholarly research and artistic work. A strong commitment to providing leadership in the applied voice area with strength in recruitment and willingness to undertake administrative activities and responsibilities corresponding to rank are essential to this position as well.

Finally, the successful candidate will collaborate with community partners and stakeholders, including local and provincial vocal studio teachers. Knowledge of, and experience with, the Regina and southern Saskatchewan vocal community is a definite asset.
