Teaching Position Available: One-Year Term Position in Composition
School of Music – Brandon University, 270 18th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 6A9
Brandon University’s School of Music invites applications for a one-year term position in Composition (subject to budgetary approval). The successful candidate will teach the following:
- 64:251 – Perspectives in Indigenous Music
- 64:286 – Composition
- 64:396 – Introduction to Electroacoustic Music
- 4-5 individual undergraduate and graduate composition students (majors and potentially minors)
Based on the needs of the School of Music and the successful candidate’s expertise and interests, other courses may be assigned.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and engagement with Indigenous musical practices, and a keen interest in engaging Indigenous and non-Indigenous students and community members through musical, artistic, and pedagogical endeavours. The successful candidate will contribute to the Music Research Department’s ongoing efforts to revise its curriculum and course offerings within the context of participating in a full range of academic activity: teaching, research/creative output, and service to the university and wider communities.
