Applications are invited for a one-year limited-term position in Trumpet/Jazz (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025) at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Music at the University of Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and potentially graduate-level courses in applied classical trumpet, as well as courses in the jazz area commensurate with departmental needs, and the candidate’s strengths, as selected from the following (listed alphabetically): composition; jazz arranging; jazz ensemble (director); jazz history; jazz improvisation; and jazz pedagogy. The successful candidate may also teach other courses outside of the trumpet and jazz areas that are commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and the curricular needs of the department. The successful candidate will also undertake administrative activities corresponding to rank.

Qualifications: Master’s of music degree required along with evidence of significant professional performance experience. Previous teaching experience will be considered an asset.
