Join MusCan as we share job postings, the latest research from our members, and advocate for music in higher education across the country. From performance to musicology to education and ethnomusicology, MusCan includes a large and vibrant network of scholars working in a variety of scholarly areas.

MusCan’s annual conference brings together scholars in music from across Canada for lively and welcoming discussions, panels, concerts, and recitals.

Through our Standing Committee of Institutional Members, membership in the Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, production of our journal Intersections, and more we are a voice for advocacy on issues of interest to our members.

Through our prizes we support student research and composition in all topics and areas, and also recognize and support the achievements of career scholars in Canadian music.

Your home institution can showcase its people and campus by hosting one of our annual conferences, and participate in regular SCIM meetings to discuss shared issues and successes year-round.

MusCan is in an important renewal phase. Join us in our continuing work of changing the way the association works and what it provides for its members, and in furthering conversations and action on creating better, more inclusive music studies.
